Nautilus Interview with WWS Magazine

Below is an excerpt from the WWS Magazine interview with Nautilus. In my opinion dude killed this interview and put himself in a good place as far as getting the brand out. Good looks fam.

What are you currently working on and what can we expect to see?
Currently working on my series of “Animal Planet” mixtapes. Just dropped the first tape which has some new original tracks including my new single “HeadNod” as well as some remixes to tracks by Rick Ross, Capone, Chris Brown, & Lil Wayne. The mixtapes incorporate themed elements of Animal Planet samples with some unique story telling. I wanted to try something new for my listeners and make music that was intriguing that everyone could relate to, plus I’m a huge fan of anything Animal Planet so it was a way to put together two passions of mine.

What is one of the most drastic changes you’ve made about yourself in the last year?
I think I’ve really changed up my perspective of music and my self-image moving forward. I’m from a real underground hip hop era and have been able to see the growth in hip hop and how it’s taken on such a larger global audience. I think it’s important for people to love music for what it is and I’ve really been able to branch out more and open my ears to a lot of things, and incorporate different styles to really create my own unique voice and sound.

Tell us about one of the hardest challenges you had to face in the industry?
The hardest part about being an artist, especially building your way up is to build that foundation and prove to people that you got something special. There’s not really anything special about being a hip hop artist nowadays because everybody you meet is a rapper now. Especially coming out of a Seattle market where there is no major or well known hip hop scene, its been tough to really get that huge following and support and to stay motivated to continue putting out good material.
